OSX 10.9 with Apple TV extend desktop

Well I like to think I'm up to date with apple tech (i do work at an pho apple store) and i felt like a noob today. I just discovered that OSX 10.9 will allow an apple TV to extend your desktop.

So my question, since I'm not on 10.9 yet, has anyone who is used it to send there video out? I would assume theres delay like with 10.8 and mirroring, so ME users does the delay compensation make up for it?
