Hi Serato Team,

First off, I want to say I truly love Serato Studio — it’s one of my go-to tools. That said, there are some areas where it’s still quite a bit behind other production DAWs in terms of basic functionality. I believe these updates would not only make the workflow smoother but also make Serato Studio a serious one-stop production environment for many producers.

1. Piano Grid Zoom & Extended Grid Bars
Please allow us to zoom in/out on the piano grid and extend grid values up to 128. In modern trap production, especially when using hi-hat triplet tricks at slower tempos (e.g., 60 BPM), I’m forced to push BPM to 240 just to make it work — which breaks the natural flow.

2. Triple-Time Functionality in Piano Grid
It would be incredibly useful to have triple-time options available directly in the piano grid when adding a new sample or instrument deck. Right now, that option is missing entirely.

3. Modern Grid Values
The current “x2” grid setting feels outdated for today’s drum programming needs. Please give us full flexibility up to 128 grid values.

4. Time-Stretching with Warp Markers
A more precise time-stretching option in grid mode is essential — especially for sampling older records where timing drifts. Being able to pin warp markers to specific points (without affecting audio before/after) and aligning them to an actual tempo-based grid — similar to Ableton’s warp system — would be a game-changer. Right now, Serato Studio’s stretching isn’t always accurate with vintage material.

5. Layering Sounds in Sample & Instrument Decks
The ability to layer sounds (e.g., adding a kick to an 808) directly in the Sample or Instrument decks would be huge. The drum deck supports layering, but it lacks the “hold and trigger” (/) function and the Sample/Instrument decks lacks ability to do grid triplets like.

6. Drum Deck Tempo Function Toggle
When using drum decks, the tempo function (which changes cue playback speed) should be off by default — or at least give us a toggle. As it is, it alters the sound and shortens the release of drums. This can be confusing and it took a lot of time for me to troubleshoot this. Producer colleagues of mine with major production credits heard this right off the bat and skipped over using Serato studio in its entirety as a weapon of choice.

7. Library Auditioning Improvements
Please allow scrubbing and play/stop controls when auditioning in the library. This would save time by letting us hear specific sections of a file without dragging it into the project first.

I share this with passion because I want Serato Studio to be the best it can be. Many of us are already using Serato for DJing — giving the production side these workflow and functionality upgrades could make it our complete creative hub.
