Sorting in V 4

I just realized that I cannot change sorting by number of all songs in a crate unless I move them in the positions that I want them to be, one by one or more holding shift but not all at once.
In previous versions I could sort by BPM, select all and then switch to sorting by #,drag the selected on top and the sorting would be by BPM and number. Then I could just make my adjustments accordingly. Now when I do this, it goes back to the numbering it was out of BPM order.
Is this a bug or is this how its gonna be from now on?

I'm seeing this behaviour too. Please reinstate this feature.

Yes I agree. Just tried to move tracks in my playlist and they don't move. must be a bug. So Serato has to look into this.

Ignore my last message.
here is the solution.
If you cannot move tracks, check these settings in order:
Select the "#" Column: Click the very first column header in your tracklist, which is marked with a # icon. This column represents the order in which tracks were added or their custom manual order.
Manual dragging is only possible when this column is active.
Disable Secondary Sorting: If you have set a secondary sort (e.g., sorting by Genre and then BPM), it will prevent manual movement. To disable secondary sorting, hold CTRL + SHIFT (Windows) or CMD + SHIFT (macOS) and click the secondary column header.
Check "Protect Library" Setting: If the Protect Library option is enabled in the Setup menu, it may prevent certain changes to your crates. Go to Setup > Library + Display and ensure "Protect Library" is unticked if you are unable to edit crates.
Avoid "Show in Crates" View: If you have right-clicked a track and selected "Show in Crates," Serato enters a filtered view that highlights only the crates containing that specific track. In this mode, you cannot rearrange tracks. Press Escape or click the "X" in the panel header to exit this view.
I tried it and it works. Also If you have a Main crate and within that crate you have sub crates, it will only work in the sub crates not the main.
Hope this helps!

In Version 4 and above, the protect library was removed.
I know how to move tracks and that you have to be in # to do it.
Moving tracks is not my problem, that is something I can still do when in # sorting.
My problem is before version 4 i was able to sort by key, selecting them all, and then switching to # would keep the tracks selected, and just moving the bunch to the top it would change the track order to BPM sorting. So 1 would be the lower BPM, 2 the next one and so on. Now I cannot do that. When switching to # dragging the selected tracks does nothing, changes nothing and keeps the order as it was, (usually its the order songs were added to a crate). So if I want my order to be in BPM I have to manually drag each or more to change their position, but not all at once like previously.

Sorry, I meant by BPM not Key. Which has the same problem if I wanted that anyway.

Well I would suggest you contact serato about this matter. I have never heard of people trying to sort with a BPM... when you hit the BPM column it automatically sorts it out for you. Mind you this is a good point and if this feature is available or even was available I would like to test it.
Good point!

This was possible in versions before the 4.0
Maybe its a bug, or maybe it was done intentionally for some reason.
Many people sort by BPM through the column header.
But then if you want to change order for any reason, either KEY or songs that go well together you cannot do it now, but you could in previous versions. You could sort by bpm, select all, then switch to #, the songs were still selected in the order of # but dragging the to the top would change the order to BPM too.
So having the order (#) and BPM sorted you can still change the songs in the order you like. Or even create "mini"10 song playlists in a crate that has a many songs of a genre, then pick another ten and so on without the need to create a new crate for each playlist.

I used this feature all the time. Sort by BPM, then Key. Highlight all, click on the # header, drag the second track to the top. This would give me a numbered list sort by BPM & Key. I would then export this via Mixo to make a USB for use on CDJs. The 4.0 library update, while adding some nice features, has broken a number of my workflow elements, including Auto Import.

Well lets hope some of these early bugs are fixed. Of course if they are bugs. There could be a bigger plan in the upgrade path.
Like I said I havenever heard of both Auto impost nor sorting with BPM. Its jjust not how I do things myself. Just my way of working.. doesnt mean the feature should not be available for others.
Can you please tell me which prevvious versions had these features so I can test it out with my older Macs.. Thanks!

No need... I found the auto_import feature. Hmmm no thanks not for me...I organise things to my preference. But its a coold feature... If it could only organise into external crates like iTunes does...
Cool feature.
Serato bring this back!!

Raffy, I believe you missed the point. Its not an auto import feature. It has nothing to do with import.
Its about sorting crates you already have a certain way.
