In pretty much all versions prior 4.0.1 when using the "Files" window to browse your computer it would populate in a way that would allow you to see your whole desktop (or whatever you're searching for) in a separate window. It 4.0.1 when I do this it still takes me where I want to go but now my desktop folder is a drop down. For me personally, this disrupts a part of my workflow. My question is, can this be changed in settings? Or, is this just the new way things are now?

I've noticed this as well bro. It slows my work flow down a lot.

I have to take 3-5 extra steps now to do accomplish things I was able to do in 2 mouse clicks before. I understand this could be a niche need for me and maybe only a few others but it don't make it no less annoying.

Exactly, the software has been around for so long that the majority of users have muscle memory. Having so many changes should have been accommodated by a switch-based system, so we had an option.
I'm sure that I'm not the only one who makes last-second decisions, and that's when the muscle memory comes into play.
Hopefully, they have a plan to implement all the missing features again, now that the initial release is out there.

Serato have eff'd up with 4.x.x
Removing support for m3u files CRIPPLES my workflow of almost 12 years - i.e. exclusive use of m3u files as "crates".
UNINSTALLING and moving back to 3.3.5
Get a grip, Serato. Get a grip!!!

There are lots of things I really enjoy about 4.0.1. And, it is the version I'm choosing to use. But, this one minor change is incredibly annoying. Especially considering I've been an exclusive user since Scratch Live version 1.0 and the files menu has always been the same and suddenly it's not.
Until I get a rhythm going and get to a comfortable place with a new workflow my workaround is just gonna be to keep 3.3.5 on my laptop for library management tasks and use 4.0.1 to perform with.
