New MacBookPro question

I will be buying a new MacBookPro soon. Obviously I have read the serato pro system recommendations.
My question is which one exactly should I get? New M5 chip? M4pro? 20, 32,40-core CPU. The amount of memory etc? Not sure what is overkill or not.
I DJ in clubs several times a week using standard Pioneer gear. Once in a while using a Pioneer controller. Also use Serato Video too.
I know the obvious answer is get the best one possible but I’d prefer not to spend literally thousands more if I don’t have to. Any suggestions would be qppreciaged.

Agreed. I have a base M1Pro MBP with 16 GB of memory. I can SDJ Pro at the highest settings for several hours on the battery of this 5+year old laptop without hearing the fans spin up once.
You can run any DJ software for the foreseeable future on any MacBook as long as you don't get an Intel one.

The 2025 M4 MacBook Air is only starting at $1,000 with 16gb of ram. …if youre looking to stay more budget friendly. That thing is a beast. I’ve ran that thing for hours and hours with video and it’s flawless. Granted I keep a tiny portable usb fan under my laptop stand that blows directly under my MacBook to circulate air.
But if you can afford a maxed out MBP…then you’ll more than likely be set for the rest of the century lol.

My partners Brother In Law has bought an M4 Macbook Air after having tonnes of latency issues with a Dell laptop (that had more than enough specs to cope).... its been flawless for him so far. its insane that you can buy that much power in a laptop for less than £1000 and when my M1 MBP runs its course an Air be my next purchase.

Yeah, it’s a great option for DJs that are on a tighter budget. I actually got mine from a pawn shop for $700 usd. It was Only 2 months old and it had 5 yrs of Apple Care prepaid for and already attached to the serial number and it came with the box, power cord and charging brick. .
Check pawn shops too if you don’t mind going second hand, you might get lucky and hit the jackpot…the more cash you save, the more you can spend on speakers. At least that’s how I sell it to my wife everytime I come home with new sub woofers and tops. Lol

I got an Apple Watch Ultra from one of those mobile trade in websites, £480 and it’s pristine, the only downside is the strap was fake but I had a nice strap from my previous one anyway. Saved £300 from new.
If you don’t mind used stuff there are real bargains out there.

^Right on man. Thats a great deal! Definitely worth replacing the strap to save that kind of money.
